HOW TO ADD YOUR BUSINESS TO GOOGLE
You definitely want your business on Google. Google is the "Big Dog" of the internet and many, many people search there first for a business or service. But how do you get YOUR business on there and do it for FREE? I'm glad you asked! I just so happen to have written an article on it showing you the easy steps to get your business out there and do it for FREE!. Here is the link to Google Business where you can add yours now. It will open a new window so you can come back here for tips on how to set it up: ADD MY BUSINESS TO GOOGLE. Google Business IS NOT for dot coms. It must be a real brick-and-mortar business. I just did my dot com as an example.
The first thing Google wants you to do is to make sure your business isn't already online. So type in your business name, city, state to make sure. If it isn't, click, "Add your Business" and away we go! (See pic below)
Fill this next box out completely. You can't have a P.O. Box for an address. It will come up in error. You do have to choose a category. Just start typing in a common service/business use that you do and see what comes up. It doesn't allow you to make one up of your own, so choose something close if it doesn't have exactly what you have to offer. If you deliver goods to customers location, check that box. After you've filled in everything, click, "Continue". (See pic below)
It's then going to ask you to verify your business by mail with your address there, or you can click "Learn More", or you can click, "Verify Later". NOTE: Before any of your changes will stick on the next page, your business address has to be verified. (See pic below)
Next box has you verify your information and click the box saying that you're authorized to make changes. Then click, "Continue". (See pic below)
The next screen will welcome you to Google Business and you can watch a tour or skip it.
When you're done the tour or you skipped it, this is the next page to come up. (See pic below). Just fill out the neccessary data for your business. Try to add pictures and fill out everything you can. The more you do, the better for your business online.
